What is an imprint and who needs one?

The legal notice provides information about who is responsible for the content of the aforementioned media and who wrote it.
It contains certain information about website administrators, including personal data such as names, addresses and contact details. For example, you can find out from the legal notice who created the design, who created certain texts or graphics, where certain images come from, etc.

The content of the legal notice is subject to strict regulations and it is largely mandatory to keep one. In Austria, several laws deal with the so-called imprint obligation for websites.

In principle, the following applies: no matter how high the probability of legal consequences is, it makes sense in any case to include a complete imprint on a website. This is because it increases the credibility and trustworthiness of a website.
Printed works that are published periodically, i.e. 4 times a year, also fall under the imprint obligation. Examples of this are club newspapers, customer magazines, etc.
